Assistant or Associate Professor of Urology Pediatric Urology - M2511-0013
The Department of Urology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio is seeking a faculty pediatric urologist at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor to join an active, growing clinical and multidisciplinary Urology Program. The incumbent will have graduated from an ACGME accredited Urology training program and Pediatric Fellowship program and have an interest in academic Urology and well-rounded experience in clinical Urology. Incumbents for the position will be considered immediately or begin upon completion of Fellowship training.
The individual appointed to this position will have clinical and surgical responsibilities and the opportunity to collaborate with both clinical and basic scientists in the design, management and analysis of pediatric urologic research programs in the Department of Urology, with opportunity for scientific leadership and publication. The successful applicant is expected to contribute to teaching medical students and residents. Evidence of scholarly research is desirable. Fellows in Urology Oncology and Female Urology, Neurourology and Voiding Dysfunction - M2511-15/16
The Department of Urology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio has an opportunity for candidates seeking Fellowships in Urologic Oncology and in Female Urology, Neurourology and Voiding Dysfunction. Fellows have opportunities to collaborate with clinical and basic scientists in the design, management and analysis of research programs in the Department and work in a multidisciplinary clinical training program. The Department of Urology has faculty scientists in several disciplines and has collaborative programs with clinicians and scientist throughout the world. Both fellowships are two years in duration and include matriculation in the UT Health Science Center at San Antonio Master of Science Degree in Clinical Investigation.
Urologic Oncology Fellowship. This program is approved by the Society of Urologic Oncology and is intended for individuals who have completed their urology residency and are seeking a career as an independent investigator in Urologic Oncology. The first year is a basic science year with translational science opportunities. The second year of clinical training is under the direct supervision of the Professor & Chair, Ian M. Thompson, M.D. and includes interactions with other members of the Urologic Oncology faculty.
Female Urology, Neurourology and Voiding Dysfunction Fellowship. This Fellowship is under the preceptorship of Stephen R. Kraus, M.D. who heads the section of Female Urology, Neurourology and Voiding Dysfunction. In addition to Urology, the fellow will have scheduled rotations with Urogynecology, Colorectal surgery and Spinal Cord Injury services in order to gain experience with Urodynamics, complex voiding disorders, neurogenic bladder, female urology, pelvic prolapse and pelvic floor disorders.
Interested candidates: Admission to both programs is contingent upon completion of an ACGME accredited urologic training program and meet the criteria for a Texas State Medical license. If the application is submitted during the residency training we will need a letter of support from the urology training program director recommending them for the fellowship and attesting to the candidate's intended successful completion of the urology training program. ACADEMIC UROLOGY OPPORTUNITY
The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, Department of Urology seeks a full-time faculty member with specialty training in female urology/neurourology /voiding dysfunction. The candidate will have clinical and research interests in female pelvic disorders, incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse and voiding dysfunction. This position offers a unique opportunity to become an important part of a collaborative multi-disciplinary effort. Academic aspects include participating in training of urology residents, medical students and fellows as well as the opportunity to conduct research and collaborate with NIH funded investigators.
